Across the country, more and more academies are popping up, promising young athletes a chance to train harder and play more. But too often, something vital is missing.
-
Academics are pushed aside, or families are left to figure them out on their own.
-
Faith is nowhere in the conversation.
St. Thorfinn Academy is different.
Launching with grades 9–12, St. Thorfinn will unite academics, athletics, and faith into one complete program. Students will meet and exceed Maryland’s graduation requirements through a partnership with a soon-to-be-named virtual partner, while also pursuing unique academic tracks inspired by the saints — from engineering, computer science, and business to nursing, seminary studies, and the arts.
Every St. Thorfinn graduate will earn a diploma that goes beyond the state minimum, including four years of religion, advanced electives, and opportunities for dual enrollment. Students will leave prepared for life after high school — whether that’s college, seminary, or professional training.
Athletically, our first program begins in Spring 2026 with baseball, with plans already underway to expand into additional sports in the years ahead. Participation in athletics at St. Thorfinn doesn’t just build skills on the field, it fulfills physical education requirements while reinforcing discipline, teamwork, and character.
This is more than a training ground. It’s a mission: Courage. Discipline. Resolute Leadership.
